914-6 Werkshop is the work of Ben McFarland, a man who’s been involved with Porsche since he was barely able to walk. During Ben’s youth, his dad always had a project. Ben cut his teeth on 356s, 912s, 914s, and even a 924 Turbo.
While working as a welder/fabricator in the aviation industry at age twenty-one, Ben purchased and restored his first Porsche: a 1970 914. He learned a lot. Ben purchased a Roller 914 the next year to do a six conversion. He completed a bare-metal repaint and made his own engine mount, headers, and muffler. That’s how the Werkshop was born.
Along the way, Ben has owned many 911s and 964s, and even built his own 911 Turbo, but nothing has ever come close to the feeling of driving a 914.
In addition to owning several businesses, Ben has taught welding and fabrication for the last 17 years. He is always happy to talk Porsche and about how he can help you with your project.
